As you likely know, voting is underway on the federal government's massive omnibus budget bill, Bill C-38. The government refused the NDP's reasonable request to divide the bill into five sections to ensure MPs can give the legislation the scrutiny it needs and that Canadians have been demanding.

Bill C-38 is a serious attack on working people, the environment, culture, oversight and democracy. Bill C-38 will mean the loss of thousands of public sector jobs. The bill shifts many decisions out of Parliament where issues can be debated and amended, and gives government ministers the power to govern by regulation.
Bill C-38 is currently being voted on. We must express our opposition today, and for the future.
