In Brief

Many Steelworkers are already active on Facebook. Launching our USW Facebook page is another great way to share USW news and engage with our members and allies.

TORONTO - The United Steelworkers (USW) is pleased to launch our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/uswmetallos.

"Many Steelworkers are already active on Facebook. Launching our USW Facebook page is another great way to share USW news and engage with our members and allies in the labour movement," said Ken Neumann, USW National Director.

The USW's Facebook presence will give unionists and labour activists an easy way to stay up-to-date with Steelworker news and events. Members and allies and those interested in the Canadian labour movement can engage and share and be part of a growing and vibrant online community.

The USW Facebook page features news, photos and videos from the USW website, and also articles, events and shared posts from other organizations of interest to Steelworkers and the broader labour community. The USW Facebook page Like our USW page on Facebook: uswmetallosincludes status updates in English and in French.

"We want to be doing all we can to engage with our members and activists who are the backbone of the fight for good jobs, working conditions, strong communities and respect for workers, and Facebook can be a part of that," said Neumann. "I look forward to the conversations, connections, sharing and activism that our USW Facebook page offers."

The USW Facebook page adds to the USW's online resources including our website, our photo galleries on Flickr and our email newsletter, e-INFO. We also post and share videos on our website at www.usw.ca/videos.
