“Workers who are put in the position of losing their jobs need to be protected and supported in these difficult times,” says Wayne Fraser.  “The union will absolutely do whatever it takes to make that happen.  At the same time, our actions do not replace the decent jobs that continue to be permanently lost.”

Masonite, Hamilton Specialty Bar, Trenton Works in Nova Scotia – hundreds more jobs lost among the hundreds of thousands of jobs lost across Canada over the last five years.

“Federal and provincial governments must be held accountable for letting corporations run everything, and for treating Canadian families as disposable. 

“If ripping apart communities and people’s futures could be considered criminal, Stephen Harper and Dalton McGuinty would be guilty as charged.     

“No one’s job is secure in this environment and we are losing our capacity to build a strong manufacturing base that supports Canadians and their families.”
