Canadian Labour Congress: Get Real! It's the Economy

A Message from the National Director

The economic crisis in Canada, clear to everyone in the newspaper headlines announcing plant closures and worker layoffs, is growing worse each month.

It is a crisis that needs new leadership to develop and carry out a plan to protect and create manufacturing jobs across our country.

We need our government to act now to stop the current severe downturn in the economy becoming a long-term economic depression that will hurt thousands and thousands more workers and their families.

This is not business as usual for our country or our economy, and every Steelworker needs to be informed and prepared to take action.

We need to speak out for an effective economic stimulus package to be delivered in the federal budget on January 27.

Click here for more information about what is happening, what you can do, local events, a video from our International President, and more!

We need leadership and vision in these difficult times. Steelworkers need to be heard.

Thank you.

In solidarity,

Ken Neumann
National Director
