- 30 July 2009 Longtime Steelworker Activist Pat Hinchey Dies TORONTO, July 28 - Patrick Hinchey, a union activist and committed member of the community, died Monday night as a result of a car accident while he was on vacation.
- 13 July 2007 Ken O'Neal, 1920-2007 Brother O’Neal was involved as a union and community activist his entire adult life. He had been actively involved with the United Steelworkers since 1942 and had over 66 years of participation in the labour movement. Ken had been heavily involved in community and government activities. He was the first union member to be asked to head the United Way campaign in Hamilton, Ontario. His leadership was invaluable in other Community Services such as the Hamilton YMCA, the St Joseph’s Hospital and numerous other civic organizations.
- 6 September 2005 Keith Oleksiuk, 1947-2005 Keith Oleksiuk had never considered his own obituary when he was stricken with cancer. He rarely talked of his accomplishments and his still-expanding career as a labour lawyer. He was, when he died four months later, a Socialist whose work was unfinished.
- 12 May 2005 Les Woodcock, 1924 -2005 A long-time Steelworker and community leader in Sault Ste. Marie is dead. Leslie Woodcock died May 1. He was 81. Recognized by current and former Steelworker leaders, including Lynn Williams, as an outstanding trade unionist, Woodcock was a former president of Local 2251 (Algoma Steel).
