Locked Out Workers Launch International Campaign to Get Rio Tinto ‘OFF the Olympic Podium’
The United Steelworkers, is calling for the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to drop multinational resource firm Rio Tinto as an official supplier of the 2012 London Games, because the company's treatment of its own workers does not live up to the Olympic spirit.

On February 29, three global union federations whose affiliates comprise over 50 million union members unanimously adopted a resolution to conduct a global campaign against Rio Tinto for the lock-out of 800 members of the United Steelworkers (USW) in Alma, Quebec.
