The last several years have been challenging for Canadian workers in the steel industry. Unfair trade dumping and trade laws, unstable market conditions and a failure by Canadian governments to protect and grow the Canadian steel market, have left USW members vulnerable.
With the additional challenge posed by the COVID19 pandemic, we feel strongly that although we can’t meet in person, we still need to bring together all USW steel-producing locals for a one-day online conference on Tuesday, May 26 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eastern.
Please note that a unique email address is required for each registration.
IMPORTANT:
- Even if you have previously registered for the conference that was planned in Ottawa from May 25 to 29, you will need to re-register for this online conference.
- If your local had sent payment for the in-person conference, a refund will be issued before the end of May, 2020.
- As this is an online conference, you will need to make sure that each member who registers has access to a computer with internet access, and a telephone for the duration of the conference.
