NDP Poised to Form Government in B.C.

Steelworkers couldn't be prouder of our next B.C. Premier John Horgan and the BC NDP team – congratulations on a tremendous election campaign!

Voters went to the polls on May 9 and voted for change. The BC NDP and the BC Green Party have reached an agreement for the parties to work together and intend to form a minority government.

With 44 seats between them, the parties have the balance of power and the votes to overturn Christy Clark’s Liberals and their 43 seats when the house reconvenes in June.

Steelworkers worked very hard in the B.C. election. We believe in John Horgan and building a better B.C. We believe in a strong economy that works for regular people, instead of just the CEOs who donate to Christy Clark.

With this historic agreement with the BC Greens, the BC NDP will be able to deliver on its promises of job creation in infrastructure and forestry for a better B.C.

“Congratulations to all Steelworkers who got involved in the election. Your hard work through Steelworkers Vote, in your workplaces, on the phones and at the doorsteps has made this NDP victory possible,” said Stephen Hunt, USW District 3 Director.

Thank you!
