Marty Warren’s statement for International Women’s Day 2020

On March 8, 2020, we celebrate International Women’s Day. I am proud of the accomplishments our Women of Steel have made and continue to make in our union and in our society. Over the last year, I have seen an increase in women’s involvement in leadership roles within our local unions and beyond. USW women are creating a better future for all by getting involved and having their voices heard.

I will continue to stand with our sisters in their fight for inclusion, diversity, equal pay and safety for all. Our women’s committees will continue to stand strong and determined to challenge the inequality that exists in our society today. I am proud of the accomplishments that we have made over the last year, but we still have more to do.

Continue to get involved, have your voices heard and be proud of you. There is “Nothing Stronger Than a Woman of Steel.”

Happy International Women’s Day.

In solidarity,

Marty Warren
Director, District 6
